IPC704 to IPC707

Ordering number & code conversion

Translate an existing IPC704 (version 042 or 511) ordering code into its IPC707 equivalent. Enter the seven positions of your IPC704 code, choose the replacement options, and the tool derives the matching IPC707 part number, checks it against the valid ordering limits, and lets you copy it or add it to the catalog bill of materials.

01 · Inputs

IPC704 ordering code

Base part number 244-704-000-XXX followed by codes A to G:

unit pC/g
unit µA/mm/s
unit Hz
unit Hz

Replacement options

“Without” for a form, fit and functionally identical replacement. “With” for SIL 2 applications.

“-1 dB” keeps the same IPC704 cutoff frequency. “-3 dB” applies the ISO 2954 standard filtering.

“Custom” for the exact same IPC704 transfer. “Standard” for the closest new standard transfer.

The result updates as you type. Code C and D units follow the selected B type automatically. The conversion reproduces the official IPC704 to IPC707 ordering code conversion table, revision 05.

Conversion rules & limits

The IPC707 replaces the IPC704 with the fixed base part number 244-707-000-012. Codes A, E and F carry over from the IPC704 (E and F are rounded to the IPC707 coding format, and F is scaled when the -1 dB option is chosen). Codes B, C, D and G are translated as described below.

Code translation

A · EnvironmentCarried over unchanged: 1 = standard (non-Ex), 2 = Ex ia (intrinsic safety), 3 = Ex ec / nA (Zone 2).
B · DiagnosticsFrom the Diagnostic option: Without = B1, With (SIL 2) = B2.
C · Transfer sensitivityComputed from the IPC704 sensor and output sensitivities: transfer = output sensitivity ÷ (sensor sensitivity ÷ k), where k converts the measurand to the per-pC transfer domain. Rounded to 4 significant digits, maximum 2 decimals.
D · Transfer unitsFrom the IPC704 B type: 1 = µA/pC, 2 = mV/pC, 3 = µA/pCs, 4 = mV/pCs.
E · High-pass filterCarried over, rounded to 3 significant digits, maximum 1 decimal.
F · Low-pass filterCarried over, rounded to 3 significant digits. With the -1 dB option the cutoff is multiplied by 1.24 so the -1 dB point of the IPC707 matches the IPC704 cutoff.
G · MountingIPC704 G0 = IPC707 G1 (two M4 screws, without DIN-rail adaptor); any other value = G2 (with MA130 DIN-rail adaptor).

Transfer domain factor k

Acceleration types (B1, B2)k = 1 — transfer in µA/pC or mV/pC
Velocity, metric (B3, B4)k = 9810 — transfer in µA/pCs or mV/pCs
Velocity, imperial (B5, B6)k = 9810 ÷ 25.4 ≈ 386.22 — transfer in µA/pCs or mV/pCs
Pressure, bar (B7, B8)k = 1000 — transfer in µA/pC or mV/pC
Pressure, psi (B9, B10)k = 1 — transfer in µA/pC or mV/pC

Standard transfer sensitivities

With the Standard option, the computed transfer is replaced by the closest standard value not exceeding it:

Per-pC transfers (µA/pC, mV/pC)

Values0.1 · 0.2 · 0.5 · 1 · 2 · 5 · 10 · 20 · 50

Per-pCs transfers (µA/pCs, mV/pCs)

Values981 · 1962 · 4905 · 7553.7 · 9810 · 19620 · 49050 · 98100

IPC707 ordering limits

The converted code is checked against the valid IPC707 ordering ranges. Outside these limits the ordering code is not possible:

A · Environment1 to 3
B · Diagnostics1 to 2
C · Transfer sensitivity0.1 to 110 (µA/pC, mV/pC) · 981 to 98100 (µA/pCs, mV/pCs)
D · Transfer units1 to 4
E · High-pass filter0.5 Hz (without diagnostics) or 1 Hz (with diagnostics) to 110 Hz
F · Low-pass filter200 Hz to 20 000 Hz. The current IPC707 additionally offers a 50 kHz standard low-pass cutoff (since DS 262-713 v13, without diagnostics B1 and without integrator D1/D2 only); the IPC704 never offered 50 kHz, so it cannot result from a conversion. To order it, use the IPC707 configurator.
